Sometimes, it is a scary thought to know what we are like inside. The heart is deceitful. Transparency, truthfulness, and baring all is not an easy thing to do because we will need to confront what is laid out. But the psalmist says

Search me, O God, and know my heart!

Try me and know my thoughts!

And see if there be any grievous way in me, 

and lead me in the way everlasting

Psalm 139:23-24

Would we open our hearts to let God search us, for the Holy Spirit to pierce us in areas of our lives that are not pleasing to God, in places unseen where we would rather bury ourselves than let it be exposed? To surrender our selves and let God direct and lead us towards something better?

If we desire a sweet, unrestricted and honest and open relationship with God, we know what we need to do.
